 The American theater world was deeply saddened by the loss of Gavin James Creel, a beloved actor, singer, and songwriter, on September 30, 2024. At the age of 48, Creel passed away at his Manhattan home following a battle with metastatic melanotic peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

Creel's talent shone brightly on Broadway stages, where he earned a Tony Award for his performance in "Hello, Dolly!" and garnered additional nominations for his roles in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and "Hair."


His infectious energy and powerful voice captivated audiences, making him a beloved figure in the theater community.
