Wednesday, 25 September, Helene Intensifies as Florida Braces for Impact

Helene rapidly intensifies in its path to the strongest hurricane to hit the US in over a year

As of Wednesday, September 25, Tropical Storm Helene continues to gain strength as it moves closer to the Florida coast. Forecasters now predict the storm could intensify into a major hurricane before landfall.

Coastal cities along Florida's western coast are closely monitoring the storm's path and preparing for potential impacts, including heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surge. They were advised by the National Hurricane Center (NHC)  to keep up with the most recent information from local authorities, secure their homes, and evacuate if needed.

In addition to closely monitoring the storm, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) will provide you with updates on its projected path and intensity regularly.
